Nowadays, parents do their best to teach children the first rule of growing up in the age of the Internet: What happens on Facebook doesn't stay on Facebook, and what you put on your MySpace page could haunt you for life. Hour of Lauer: Of the many unsolved mysteries in the case of Larry Craig, the greatest is simply, why won't he leave? He has no support left back home. He stands no chance in court. His entire party taps its feet, in vain, for him to go.

Celebrating 2007 with the überlist

So many people keep saying 2007 was a bad year for sports. They keep harping on Michael Vick and the Mitchell report and Pacman and Tank. Their negativity knows no bounds. They forget to celebrate the joys of sport, the limitless pursuit of excellence and the indefatigability of the human spirit.

Like A-Rod. He brings us the opt out, then he opts back in, opting out of his relationship with superagent Scott Boras to opt in with the Yankees. Sweet story. Then he goes on "60 Minutes" to say he never took steroids, even though no one but Jose Canseco and Diane Sawyer asked that question.

Or, seriously, Kevin Everett. With the help of some of the best and most innovative medical care in the world, the Bills tight end recovered from a potentially paralyzing and life-threatening injury to walk again.

Private wakes for frozen tots

YELLOW QUILL RESERVE, Sask. -- A Saskatchewan community is preparing to say goodbye to two little girls who froze to death earlier this week.

But the Yellow Quill First Nation wants to do it without the media there.

Chief Robert Whitehead said yesterday they banned the media at the request of the family and the band's elders, to allow people time to mourn.

"A lot of times, our belief system's kind of overlooked when something like this happens. It's not respected, and therefore I think our young people are beginning to see that, nobody else respects it, why should we respect it?"

RCMP say the two girls were taken outside by their father early Tuesday morning and ended up freezing to death in a field by their home. .

Broken families, broken courts: How rushed justice fails our kids

The doctor believed Joseph had intentionally burned the toddler. In dependency court, Monique faced a common allegation: She had failed to protect her child.

With her youngest still in the hospital, police escorted Monique's two older children to a Spanish-speaking foster home in Gilroy, although they spoke only English. Later, the two would move to the children's shelter, and then to a second foster home in Hollister.

Joseph was arrested, and after two years of court hearings, he pleaded guilty to felony criminal negligence, serving a seven-month jail sentence.

Meanwhile, Monique battled in dependency court to regain custody of her children. But her desperation was matched by the court's seeming indifference. "You're in, you're out, they don't even talk to you," she said.

Winehouse wins 5 Grammys; Hancock snags top album

West delivered an electric, glow-in-the-dark rendition of Stronger, then segued into a stirring tribute to his mother, Donda West, who died unexpectedly last year at age 58. "Last night I saw you in my dreams, and now I can't wait to go to sleep," sang West, dressed in all black and with MAMA etched into his haircut, as he launched into Hey Mama, a celebratory tune from his second album that has now turned into a somber ode.

When West accepted the best rap album trophy, the orchestra was trying to play him off the stage when he began speaking about his mother.

"It would be in good taste to stop the music," West said - and the music stopped.

"I know you're really proud of me right now and I know you want me to be the No. 1 artist in the world and Mama," West continued, "all I'm going to do is keep making you proud.
