At the 207th Street station, disembark and face east across the Harlem River toward the Bronx. There, atop heights of patchwork grays and browns, an unexpected cluster of collegiate buildings proudly overlooks the river. Cross the river and follow Fordham Road to Hampden Place. Near the street's end, ascend a ramshackle stone staircase through the University Woods. There, at the top of the crumbling stairway, lies the base of the domed neoclassical building that can be seen from the elevated tracks in Manhattan. The gates to one of New York's long forgotten monuments rest just beyond there, near the top of the hill. Today, the sign at the campus entrance at University Heights reads Bronx Community College, but until 1973, the handsome complex designed by Stanford White housed none other than New York University.

Ray Burke & Bertie Ahern) have given to the oil and gas companies looking to drill off the coast of Ireland. A bus from Bellanaboy will arrive at the Dail at 12 noon. This time of year, it is nearly impossible not to think about love. The symbols of love are everywhere: red roses, the sacred flower of Venus, the goddess of love; hearts, the representation of the center of emotion; Cupid, with his bow and arrow. Ah, Cupid! Now there is a story of love. He was the son of Venus and possessed the ability to cause people to fall in love by shooting them with his magical arrows. According to Roman mythology, Cupid fell in love with a mortal maiden named Psyche. Cupid's mother, who was jealous of Psyche's beauty, forbade her daughter-in-law to look upon her husband. Of course, Psyche couldn't resist and finally took a peek at her handsome husband. For punishment she was given some difficult challenges to perform. The last one piqued her curiosity so much that she opened the box she was carrying.

National Gallery gets $2M donation
The gallery announced today that Audain's donation will be used for the endowment of a chair in indigenous art. The money comes on top of the $2 million Audain donated to the gallery last year for the acquisition of Canadian contemporary art, with special emphasis on works by aboriginal and British Columbia artists. Those are just some of the millions Audain has pumped into the Canadian art world. Just a few weeks ago the Audain Foundation, a major force in the B.C. visual arts world, handed $1 million to the Bill Reid Gallery of Northwest Coast Art, which is to open in Vancouver next May. .
Yeast could be the key to ending lake invaders
Many were first found in Michigan where ships discharged ballast. By 2016, the International Maritime Organization could require all ships to install treatment systems to disinfect their ballast water, but the treaty still must be ratified by dozens of countries. Environmental groups say 2016 is too late. Now, ships either swish saltwater through their tanks to kill freshwater organisms or dump their ballast water in the ocean before entering the Great Lakes. Either method can leave tiny creatures in the sediment in the tanks. Scientists say treatment is the only real solution to stop future invaders. Bills before Congress would require tougher standards and a speedier timetable for ships entering U.S. ports. But so far, the legislation hasn't passed, partly because of lobbying from the shipping industry, which says the measures are too costly.
