Permalink | Comments (7) | 10/30: Q100 needs more letters/ Keyshia Cole By Rodney Ho | Tuesday, October 30, 2007, 06:53 PM The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Q100's Bert Show has fallen about 75,000 letters short of its goal to reach 375,000 hand-written thank you letters for U.S. overseas troops in time for Thanksgiving. They will likely start to send out letters soon anyway, guaranteeing fighting men and women in battle zones such as Iraq and Afghanistan will get letters for sure. But the station would still like to hit 375K and is giving listeners another day or two to get pen and paper out. Host Bert Weiss said he was frustrated they didn't reach the goal but he's hoping people will rally and finish up the final 75,000 by Wednesday.
Krewe of Zeus holds 68th annual carnival coronation
The Mystic Krewe of Zeus gathered on Feb. 1 at the historic Saenger Theatre and crowned its new King, Zeus LXVIII, and his Queen. Royalty, members and guests entered to find the stage transformed into a golden palace, from which they traveled the globe on a magic carpet ride. The evening began in the ancient sands of Arabia and proceeded with a Magical Mystery Tour through the centuries and around the world. From ancient Rome to jolly ole London, through time and space to modern-day New York, and across the continent to Fisherman's Wharf, the night was filled with excitement and adventure. The Zeus Orchestra and Singers, under the direction of Tammy Strahan Mansfield, the Royal Troubadour, Timothy Paul Breland, and, pianist, Brian Blair, entertained the assemblage. .

Britney Spears: Street Walker seems to be focused on reviving her career and spent the weekend at the Millenium Dance Studio rehearsing for her next video. Her father Jamie came along to offer moral support, according to OK! Magazine: "Her focus and clarity are noticeable," says one fortunate witness who had the chance to look on as Brit worked on her routine for her upcoming video. "Almost like the old Britney we've known and loved."
Brit's dad arrived at Millennium to watch his daughter rehearse before they headed back home together. "Before Jamie got there, she seemed to be getting anxious," one witness tells OK!. "And then he arrived and her mood changed." OK! also reports Jamie Spears is doing some major house cleaning. He fired Britney's business manager Howard Grossman who allegedly has ties to Sam Lutfi: According to court documents released Friday, Commissioner Goetz ordered Grossman to turn over "all documents, records ands assets relating to Britney Spears" to Jamie Spears and co-conservator Andrew Wallet.
